Telling it like it is for 10 years and counting...

Folks,

You should hear it from me first:

Putnam County, NY has it's first Green Party candidate* for County Legislature from the 3rd District, the one Richie Othmer most recently served and the current rep, Machine selected appointee, Lou Tartaro.

[I like Lou so let's that get out of the way - and this race is not about him. I hope we're understood? Good.]

The party of lower taxes, smaller government and less intrusion in your personal life is NOT the party that runs our county though that's what they claim and some changes have to be made.

This race is about the political Machine that selects your candidates for you, that taxes you out the wazoo and tells you it's good for you and refuses to advocate for residents of this county - unless you are close personal friends of the Ruling Class. That's not emblematic of a democracy and we deserve better.

Our county government does not support the working classes, small businesses or shop owners and, in fact, they go out of their way to make our lives as difficult - and as expensive - as possible.

This race is about giving voters a progressive option to a perennially regressive government and should serve as a note to others that we are not the provincial backwater our county government wants us to be but instead, that we are an essential part of the Hudson Valley and should lead the region into a vibrant and prosperous future.
